Louisville Electrical JATC applications for the Inside Wireman / Electrician Apprentice are CLOSED!
The only way to apply for an Apprenticeship is to fill out our online application form and submit it online. You will receive a personal and secure online application account. The online account allows you to finish your application in a timely manner, submit it, and review your status.
Before your online application is created, the applicant will be responsible for paying the $55.00 Application Processing Fee.
As an applicant for this Apprenticeship Program, I understand that it is my responsibility to provide all of the following information, High School transcript and/or GED scores along with uploading your DRIVER’s LICENSE to the application portal.
I further acknowledge that I must submit all required information to Louisville Electrical JATC within 21 days of the date that I started my online application.
Apprenticeship Application Process: What to Expect
Overview
Our selection process includes three steps:
1. Application Review
2. Personal Experience Form (PEF)
3. Aptitude Exam
Step 1: Apply
Submit your application. Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will move forward.
Step 2: Personal Experience Form
If qualified, you’ll receive an email from GAN Human Resources.
Must be completed within TWO WEEKS
Includes questions about your background and experience
Instructions and deadline will be included in the email
How to Prepare
Documents to gather (all must have your name):
Transcripts (unofficial accepted for the PEF)
Work experience documentation (employer letter or pay stubs with name and hours)
Pre-apprenticeship certifications
Military documentation (if applicable)
Up to 3 letters of recommendation
Letters of Recommendation
May come from employers, contractors, IBEW members, teachers, mentors, or similar.
Only the highest scoring letter will be used.

Step 3: Aptitude Exam
Applicants who submit a PEF will be scheduled for an aptitude exam.
Aptitude testing for the September 1st-14th 2026 window will be October 19th-22nd 2026.
Testing will last approximately 2.5 hours

The recruitment, selection, employment, and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship, shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or age- except the application must meet the minimum age requirement. The Louisville Electrical JATC does not, and will not, discriminate against a qualified individual with a disability because of the disability of such individual. The sponsor will take affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the apprenticeship program as required under applicable law and lawful regulations issued thereunder.
Applicants who meet all basic requirements will be interviewed by the JATC. Apprentices will be selected in the order of their final ranking.
As an apprentice in this apprenticeship and training program, you may be required to report for on-the-job training assignments anywhere within the employment jurisdiction of the JATC. The geographic jurisdiction of this JATC includes 68 counties in Kentucky and 7 counties in Indiana.

As an apprentice in this apprenticeship and training program, periodic advances are awarded according to the following schedule.
1st Period Apprenticeship 50% of Journeyman Wireman rate
2nd Period Apprenticeship 52.5%
3rd Period Apprenticeship 55%
4th Period Apprenticeship 60%
5th Period Apprenticeship 65%
6th Period Apprenticeship 70%
*Benefits are also paid in addition to these wages
The current rate for a Journeyman Wireman Electrician is $44.26

The JATC does not, and will not, discriminate against an apprentice or applicant, or any other participants in JATC programs and services, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, age (40 or older), genetic information, or disability with regard to any aspect of its apprenticeship programs, including but not limited to recruitment, outreach, and selection procedures, grading, assessment, and advancement; on-the-job opportunities and assignments; rates of pay; imposition of penalties or other disciplinary action and termination; and, any other benefit, term, condition, or privilege associated with apprenticeship. Discrimination complaints should be directed to the Training Director.
The JATC does not tolerate conduct, whether intentional, unintentional, verbal, or physical, that results in harassment of an individual or group, or that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work and training environment, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age (40 or older), genetic information, disability, or other protected characteristics. Harassment complaints should be directed to the Training Director.
The JATC will not tolerate any form of retaliation against an employee or apprentice who has made a complaint or cooperated in an investigation of alleged harassment. All persons contacted during an investigation will be advised that they and other individuals involved in a complaint are entitled to be treated in a professional manner, and that any retaliation or reprisal against an individual who is an alleged target of harassment or who has made a complaint, or has provided evidence in conjunction with a complaint, is prohibited and could result in discipline up to, and including, termination. JATC employees or apprentices who are found to have engaged in retaliation or who fail to cooperate with an investigation of harassment or retaliation will be subject to substantial discipline up to and including discharge or termination from the program. Harassment or Discrimination complaints should be directed to the Training Director.
